This week in my College Writing Two class my fellow classmates and I are doing the finishing touches on our movie documentary summaries and boy do I still have some work to get done. For starters my documentary summary in my eyes does look good, but unlike normally I still have not had any of my friends look over it for an extra peer review yet. This is something I really need to get done because I know at times I can and will think my writing is good when it may not be. Furthermore I still need to start my reflection paper on the documentary summary and I have not written one of those in forever so I know I will need to ask someone for a example just for a refresher. Other than all of this I would have to say that I think my documentary summary is going well and will end up being a very strong paper.

The Creepy Clown Issue
Over the past few weeks there has been an increased number of cases throughout the country of people seeing creepy clowns. Now some people may say any clown is creepy, but in this case people are dressing up as clowns and doing things like standing on the side of the road at night, walking through the woods in a clown outfit, or standing in one spot and starring at a building for hours on end. These cases are starting to scare many local residents even to the point of calling the police. One of the most disturbing cases so far I would have to say was a incident in South Carolina where a example of these creepy clowns actually tried to lure children in to the woods. I believe that this whole situation is getting out of hand primarily because I think some people are doing this as a jokend I have got to say not one is finding it funny.

How to Survive Long Distance Car Trips
This weekend I traveled to a weeding in Atlanta, Georgia. Now I know what your thinking why not fly and the answer is sad but one I am sure you can all relate to. I am a broke college student meaning I will try to save money anyway I can even if it means a long and boring car ride that lasts hours on end. This being said there is always a way to try and make these car rides less boring and just for you guys I am willing to share some of the ways I survive these trips without completely dying on the inside. First and most important if you can try to car pole with someone else it can make a trip more enjoyable in so many ways. Some examples of the benefits of car poling is having someone to talk to or play car games with to help the time fly by, but the most important benefit especially in long road trips is someone to take turns driving with. Secondly if you are car poling or not a good playlist is a must have for very simple reasons. Reason one jamming out on the radio helps time go by and keeps you from becoming a zombie driver who can barley stay awake. Reason two if you rely on the radio depending on the distance of your drive there is no promises the stations you know will continue to work or even play the music that you love. Third and most importantly make as many stops as you need to make it to your destination comfortably and safely. Some reasons why I stop to stretch, get food and use the restroom. Another important reason to stop though in my opinion is for gas I can not tell you the amount of times I have been on the interstate and someone thought they could make it to the next gas station just to end up calling Triple A or a towing company. Its not worth the hassle to try and be a hero and push your gas tank to the last second be smart about it guys and do not end up being that driver sitting on the side of the rode with no gas.
The Parking Permit Problem
Ever since the start of this year I have heard peoples complaints about how the University is handling parking passes this year. Now I will agree with everyone when I say parking alone is an issue as far as I can tell it always has been for Lewis. What I personally have an issue with this year with the parking passes is the fact that everything is done online. In some ways I can see why the University has chosen to switch to an online payment for these passes and that's to make Campus Security and Lewis University Police Departments jobs easier. The only thing I have to ask in what way has it benefitted the students. When talking to people about this I have learned that many people including myself are still waiting to receive their actual parking passes despite they paid for them over a week ago. Some of you may wonder why that is seeing that it is a parking pass on campus shouldn't you be able to get it somewhere on campus? Unfortunately you must wait for it to be mailed to you which I feel is a wasted steep. If I were to suggest a way to fix this problem I would have to say that we should be able to fill out a sheet and hand it into Campus Security with your payment for the pass. After this is done your pass is made and given to you all on the same day, this in my opinion would make receiving your parking pass in a smother fashion than we a currently receiving them.

The Start of Something New
It has been our first week of college and so far and I have got to say it has been pretty awesome. Classes seem like they will be interesting this year and it is great to see everyone from last year. Now I just have to see if I can get this blog stuff down. I am sure that I am not the only one out there who has never done anything like this before for a class, but what's the worst that can happen?
